Handmade Glass Menorahs - Pomegranate Menorah

Handmade Glass Menorahs - Pomegranate Menorah

$287.92

Artist Susan Fullenbaum In the Bible the pomegranate is mentioned as one of the seven species and symbolic of Israel's fertile land. The seeds of the pomegranate have many interpretations. According to the Midrash, there are 613 seeds within the pomegranate and each of these seeds represent one of the 613 mitzvot mentioned in the torah. In the Song of Songs, the pomegranate's red color represents love, sensuality, passion and the seeds are a symbol of fertility. The beautiful red iridescent flower representing the land of Israel is an appropriate symbol for this Hanukkah menorah and appropriate for a gift at the time of this holiday. Each section of the menorah is hand cut, wrapped in copper and soldered to form the shape. The graphic, designed with Julie Staller-Pentelnik, has been sandblasted and then fire polished in a kiln to bring out the magnificent luster of the iridescent glass. The candle holders are added last - eight for each night of Hanukkah and one, the Shammos, to light the others each night. Size - 12 x 7 x 3" *Handmade In USA by American Jewish Artist*
