Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah Mezuzahs - Chai I Mezuzah Black Iridescent on White

Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah Mezuzahs - Chai I Mezuzah Black Iridescent on White

$97.07

Either up side down or right side up, the Hebrew letters forming the word "Chai", meaning "Life". This unique configuration of the Hebrew word was designed withe Julie Staller-Pentelnik, a well known Jewish artist and Hebrew calligrapher. This mezuzah would be an ideal gift for a bar or bat mitzvah, a house warming, or just a "celebration of life" for the recipient. The lettering has been sandblasted into the stained glass. When the white flashed glass is used, the glass is placed in the kiln and heated to extremely high temperatures to clarify the lettering. When the iridescent glass is then placed under the white glass, the colors of the glass are more vibrant and radiant. When the blue opalescent glass is used, the sandblasted section is also fire polished in the kiln but at a lower temperature. The mezuzah case comes with nails and a printed scroll or klaf, ready to be placed on the doorpost of a Jewish home. The scroll contains the words of two passages from Deuteronomy, 11:13 and 6:4-9. Deuteronomy 6:4-9 has the words of the "Shema Israel" in which God commands Jews to keep God's words constantly in their minds and in their hearts. Scroll opening - 7mm Plexiglass case 1 1/4 x 6"
